Trying to fill in...
As a content writer for more than 5 years, I already established my website's credibility, garnered big companies to become their affiliate partner and partnered with 6 leading publishing partners.
Time flies, most of the content writers I knew, jumpstarted their passion and by adding video logging (short for Vlogging) to their website.
And its very tempting to join the waves of people in this industry.
Established and contented...
I started blogging 2 years ago. And compared to blogging, optimizing your Youtube Channel is not so technical to do the work around compared to blogging.
Make sure that you have the proper keywords (catchy title), good thumbnail (avoid clickbait) and proper usage of tags. Of course, viewers are a must. With all the knowledge of SEO, I applied it on my Youtube Channel and it delivers a promising result. You might get a chance that your video can become trending by Youtube suggesting your video. But that doesn't work for me (for now). Although I am getting some hefty views and comments, that doesn't stop me from making greater content.
Aiming for money or passion?...
If you are aiming to monetize your channel, you should follow Youtube's requirement, which consists of having 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time for a period of 1 year. Once you reach those requirements, you can apply for monetization. Once approved, you are ready to earn money from your videos. As long as you follow their policy, you are good to go. Don't participate to "c4c" or find ways to incentivize your channel or you might get your channel closed or getting 3 strikes right away.
As for me, I mentioned before that I am an introvert, and my weakness is facing and talking in front of the camera. But doesn't stop me from making great content. Up to date. I already made 64 videos in youtube. But still not monetized. It takes time to reach those requirements but I'm still not losing hope.
Expressing the thoughts in a lucid way...
For Blogging (Writing content) This is my favorite and my priority. It's pretty downside comical or you can say I'm a weirdo but every time I write content, I can always express my feelings and let my emotions fill the void on the context of my blog while on "vlogging" you cannot revert it back once you said the words or else you have to redo from the beginning. Sometimes, it took me 10 times to re-record a video for my vlog, Of course, there is always an advantage and disadvantages to all aspects whether you are into blogging or "vlogging".
Your own choice that counts...
By the end of the day. It's your own decision whether you want to impart vlogging just for the sake of the money or it is your passion to talk in front of the camera. As for me, I am thankful that I step out in my comfort zone and make me confident talking in front of the camera.
Worth to try and get rewarded...
I even got a partnership from a giant tech company in Dubai, since they found my youtube channel and it was even recommended by Youtube on their search page (second page to be exact).
They are so special to me as they are the first company that trusted me to review their product and I didn't regret making a Youtube Channel. And so you do.
It's the thoughts that count...
Anyways, these are only my points to ponder. Thanks for reading my blog and see you next time.
